Lee’s formal education includes a Masters in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University, and graduate course work in Exercise Physiology and Cardiac Rehab. She was motivated to pursue a career in physical therapy as a young teen when her brother became a paraplegic. As a caregiver and a patient advocate for over 20 years, Lee has a unique perspective in patient care.
Lee was introduced to Pilates while working as a physical therapist at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago with diagnoses including Orthopedic outpatients, chronic pain, Spinal cord injuries and the pulmonary rehabilitation program. Lee also continued teaching exercise classes in the fitness industry for over 20 years in addition to her career as a physical therapist. She has continued her education with advanced training in manual medicine from Michigan State College of Osteopathic medicine.
Lee is recognized by her peers in the physical therapy community and the fitness industry as a presenter and provider of continuing education. She has co-written, “Peyow Aqua Pilates” manual and DVD and produced the DVD, “Healthymotion: Pilates for Everyone.”
Lee is a fully certified STOTT PILATES™ instructor, as well as a STOTT PILATES™ INSTRUCTOR TRAINER for the STOTT PILATES™ organization.
Now, her passion is to use her formal education and experience to educate clients about safe, yet challenging exercise for a lifetime of healthymotion™!
