Our mission:
- To create personalized exercise programs that meet the specific needs of each individual client.
- To provide clients and patients with education about safe, yet challenging workouts. Healthymotion™ staff will help guide you through the trends in the fitness industry and complement other forms of exercise so you can safely enjoy them with specific knowledge about your body’s needs.
Lee Everett, MPT
Lee’s formal education includes a Masters in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University, and graduate course work in Exercise Physiology and Cardiac Rehab. She was motivated to pursue a career in physical therapy as a young teen when her brother became a paraplegic. As a caregiver and a patient advocate for over 20 years, Lee has a unique perspective in patient care.
Lee was introduced to Pilates while working as a physical therapist at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago with diagnoses including orthopedic outpatients, chronic pain, spinal cord injuries and the pulmonary rehabilitation program. Lee also continued teaching exercise classes in the fitness industry for over 20 years in addition to her career as a physical therapist. She has continued her education with advanced training in manual medicine from Michigan State College of Osteopathic medicine.
Lee is recognized by her peers in the physical therapy community and the fitness industry as a presenter and provider of continuing education. She has co-written, “Peyow Aqua Pilates” manual and DVD and produced the DVD, Healthymotion: Pilates for Everyone.
Lee is a fully certified STOTT PILATES™ instructor, as well as a STOTT PILATES™ INSTRUCTOR TRAINER for the STOTT PILATES™ organization.
Now, her passion is to use her formal education and experience to educate clients about safe, yet challenging exercise for a lifetime of healthymotion™!
Deanna Murray
Deanna has been working in group exercise for over 10 years and has taught many formats including Pilates, Spin, Body Pump and Aqua. She received her personal training certification from the prestigious Cooper Institute and is a certified STOTT PILATES™ instructor. She has the drive of a competitive tri-athlete and a heart of gold with fundraising for her events to benefit Leukemia, Lymphoma and Multiple Sclerosis research.
Alexi Akins, Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor
Wise beyone her years, with a BA in Dance and Psychology from Western Michigan University, Alexi understands what healthymotion truly is after many dance injuries. She is also an ACE certified personal trainer. Alexi is a fully certified STOTT PILATESTM instructor and a true professional. She is the lead talent and content consultant for the “Healthymotion: Pilates for Everyone” DVD. Alexi is now pursuing her degree in physical therapy.
Sue Loftus, Ace Certified Fitness Instructor
Sue has been teaching Zumba for over 5 years. She holds certifications in Zumba, Zumba Gold, and Peyow Aqua Pilates.
Sue brings energy to us at healthymotionTM by instructing our clients in Zumba and TRX Suspension classes.
Joan Volpe, Massage Therapist
Joan is a Licensed and Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Body Work with over 15 years experience. She is a member of the Association of Bodywork Massage Professionals and a graduate of Wellness and Massage Training Institute.
Therapeutic Massage is an age-old remedy and health practice. It is found in all major civilizations, past and present. The healing systems of many cultures, including our own, uses hands on therapy to soothe aches and pains and facilitate the body’s own healing powers. From infancy to old age, massage has been found to enhance general health and well-being.
Joan has been treating and comforting clients that range from infants to nearly 90 years of age. She specializes in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone and Pre-natal massage. Appointments can be made through healthymotion™ or with Joan directly at 630 779-8383.
Janet Williams, MS, LCPC
Janet Williams brings a unique, integrated mind body approach to Healthy Motion. She holds a master’s degree in counseling and is licensed as a Clinical Professional Counselor with the state of Illinois. She is also a certified in Phase II Yoga Instructor has taught yoga for the past 10 years in the western suburbs. She has created and run Stress Clinics and counseled clients with stress and anxiety issues.
